A GV-Reader is a GeoVision branded reader. The main difference between a GV-Reader and HID Reader or other reader is that in addition to Wiegand connection, we have a RS-485 connection. With the RS-485, you may directly do text overlay on to DVR with out the Weigand Capture Box. The other benefit it offers is when you use a GV-Reader, you can do anti pass back and mixed control with out using an extra door. Please refer to the diagram below.
