License Plate Recognition system

INTRODUCTION

The GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system is an effective video security and parking monitoring solution that can increase parking lot security. Many parking lots have a high risk rating due to poor response to crime and vandalism. It is difficult for security personnel to monitor Isolated corners or levels of large lots. Parking lots need high efficiency digital surveillance systems to provide live monitoring and continuous recording which enhances security and surveillance competence and provides protection and reassurance to customers and employees.

The GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system provides quality high-resolution video monitoring and recording. When emergency intercoms are activated or panic buttons are pushed, the parking attendants can determine the situation from the live view and respond appropriately. The GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system is a reliable security surveillance system that provides high recording performance and requires minimal maintenance.

 RECOGNITION

GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system activates the recognition process in two ways. The first is via software video motion detection, which detects vehicles passing through the camera and illuminator zone. The second is by I/O activation, which triggers recognition and recording upon I/O initiation. The system supports both Camera Overview and Picture-in-Picture modes with ease of monitoring.

 BENEFITS

Unlike conventional surveillance systems which simply act as a security monitoring tool, the GSS-LPR system incorporates several intelligent features. Parking lot owners and managers can use the database function of the GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system to acquire analysis of lot utilization rate, vehicle counting, hourly/daily/weekly/monthly parking frequency, and average parking time during holiday/weekday or at daytime/nighttime. The database function is an ideal tool for parking lot managers because it promotes successful utilization of parking space.

By integrating the GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system with a POS system, the GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system will associate recorded images with data, including license plate numbers, car entry/exit time and parking fee, and the GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system will capture the driver's face, the car image and the lot toll booth's cash register area. In case of fraudulent ticket or cash shortage investigation, parking managers can search for recorded images by specific data to expedite dispute settlement and increase the accuracy of toll collection.

The GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system provides multiple I/O connections to external devices such as gate controller, loop detector, TITO system, and integration to the GSS-Series DVR. Parking lot managers can incorporate flexible integration according to their specific needs. When the TITO system is used and CCTV cameras are installed in each area and floor of the parking facility, the GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system can provide entry/exit time, parking fee, license plate numbers and parking location for each vehicle. This information can be printed on each parking receipt. Customers can refer to their ticket to retrieve this information.

All of the above GSS License Plate Recognition (LPR) system applications complete a comprehensive and advanced solution for parking management.

WHY A LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION CAMERA?

1.Ordinary camera images of fast-moving vehicles are very unclear, making it impossible to read the license plate.
2.Lighting varies with weather conditions and the time of day. Ordinary cameras need frequent manual adjustments in daylight, darkness, rain, snow and bright sunlight in order to capture readable images of license plates.
3.Headlights can make it impossible for an ordinary camera to read a license plate.

INTELLIGENT TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE; A SOLUTION TO TYPICAL IMAGING DIFFICULTIES
License Plate Recognition (LPR) system with license plate
  • The Pro 8 License Plate Recognition (LPR) System is designed to capture both license plate, and overall vehicle images. This unit consists of the combination of a Pro 7 camera and a B/W camera for contrast. The Pro 7 is an intelligent license plate capture camera capable of capturing license plate images from vehicles traveling up to 120mph.  The high-contrast B/W license plate capture camera is able to capture high-contrast plates for recognition with a maximum rage of up to 160 feet. This combination produces the sharpest image available.  The Pro 8 License Plate Recognition (LPR) System is compatible with all license plate recognition software.

  • This dual camera system has IP67 vandal proof rating. The combination of the two cameras ensures successful imaging in Day/Night and all weather conditions, regardless of ambient lighting and headlight intensity
